Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant, camera pointing sfrom inside the plant southeast direction on reactor units 1 to 4. Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant, located in the Japan Fukushima prefecture, approx 250 km (160 miles) from Tokyo. Dai-ichi stands for Number 1. Its 6 reactors came online in the years 1970-1979. The plant was seriously devastated by the 9.0 magnitude Tohuku earthquake and mainly hit by consequent 14m high tsunami on March 11, 2011 which disabled the reactor cooling systems and triggered a radiation leak.
