I opened a camera and my internet browser wants to install some drivers. What is happening and what should I do?
It is a camera, which needs a vendor-specific driver for displaying the content. This driver is necessary for displaying the live video or for camera control. Without installing this driver the camera will not be displayed. As a rule those vendor-specific drivers are safe, however worldcamera.net does not take any responsibility for installing them.
Instead of displaying video from a camera, my web browser asks me to install Active-X plug-in. Is it safe?
Streaming of live video is only possible if your browser has a plug-in installed which enables displaying that type of video. These plug-ins often depend on specific camera manufacturer. So for different types of cameras you need different plug-ins. These drivers are provided by manufacturers of hardware. Usually these drivers are safe, but installing of plug-ins is on your own risk.
